Measure the picture frame to determine the distance between the two hanging hooks. This measurement is important to make sure that you hang the picture at the correct height. - Locate Wall Studs
Using a stud finder, locate the wall studs behind the area where you want to hang the picture. The studs provide a secure anchor for the picture hangers. - Mark the Wall
Using a pencil and a level, mark the location on the wall where you want to hang the picture. Make sure that the marks are level, so the picture hangs straight. - Install Picture Hangers
Install the picture hangers on the back of the frame according to the package instructions, the type of picture hanger you choose will determine the method of installation. - Hang the Picture
Hold the picture against the wall where you marked the location. Use the measuring tape to make sure that the distance between the two hangers is the same as the distance between the hooks on the back of the picture frame. - Secure the Picture
When you are satisfied with the placement of the picture, use the hammer to tap the picture hangers into the wall studs. This will secure the picture to the wall. - Step back and admire your work!
By following these steps, you should be able to hang a picture in about an hour. Remember, if you’re not comfortable with the task, consider hiring a professional handyman to do it for you.
